Just the ticket
Remember Super!, that wildly popular television show where local funnyman Eric Tsang Chi-wa subjected the participants to cruel games such as eating wasabi-laden sushi? It was such a hit in its run last year that Tsang decided to spin the idea into a stage production. Entitled Supershow (below), it takes elements from the TV programme and adds a dash of stand-up comedy, dance, and music. It also stars some of Tsang's pals - Chin Ka-lok, Jerry Lamb Hiu-fung and Belinda Hamnett.

Springtime Stage Productions is still proving it is Hong Kong's best when it comes to Broadway-style plays with its latest offering, Dark Tales. Based on a traditional Chinese ghost story, Spring-time has managed to get former Category III actress Rachel Lee Lai-chun and veteran singer Cheng Siu-chau to fill the lead roles.

Monsters don't usually find their way to the acclaimed repertoire of Chung Ying Theatre, but this is the summer and there is nothing wrong with having a little fun. Its International Arts Carnival offering, Knack Kick, tells the story of a 13-year-old boy who is accidentally transmitted into a video game, and has to battle some pretty nasty characters.
