Award-winning Canto-pop singer and actor Joey Yung Cho-yee and an executive at a listed company were arrested yesterday in connection with the assault of comedian Eric Tsang Chi-wai - taking the total number of arrests in the past two days to 11.
Yung, 21, and the 52-year-old man were held after detectives questioned nine suspects rounded up on Friday.
A police spokeswoman refused to disclose the identity of the latest two arrested suspects but a police source said the arrested woman was Yung and the man was a top aide to the boss of a listed company. The two were arrested for conspiracy to assault Tsang.
All those arrested were detained last night but no charges were laid. An identity parade is expected in the next few days.
Those arrested on Friday included a Sun Yee On Triad Society leader known as the 'Tiger of Tsim Sha Tsui East'.
The 36-year-old has a reputation for violence and is alleged to control most of the entertainment venues in Tsim Sha Tsui East.
Most of the other suspects are his ma chais, or followers, according to the police source.
