There wasn't a massive publicity campaign and there are no abundant flyers so Hong Kong Dance Expo 2001 could have turned into a blink-and-miss event. But with a line-up of 56 local and overseas dance groups and over 1,000 dancers, the three-day showcase is anything but a sleeper.

Organised by the Hong Kong Dance Federation, professional and amateur troupes are pulling out all the stops with Hong Kong Dance Company, Anhui Arts Teens Dance Troupe, E-side Dance Studio and Legacy Western Folk Dance Troupe from the Czech Republic headlining the shows. Each showcase will feature anywhere from 15 to 19 different performances by different groups.

There are still tickets left to Make Your Brains Go Pop by Les Bubb (right), one of Britain's most animated personalities. Taking mime, slapstick and some gravity-defying acrobatics, Bubb spins it all together and gives fun a new meaning. One of his most famous routines is being a 'fly on the wall'.
