Racehorse will be suspended
Pamela Pak's five-year-old racehorse Amiable will be suspended by the Hong Kong Jockey Club following the jailing of its owner.
Amiable, a gelding in the care of champion trainer Brian Kan Ping-chee, was one of the more successful horses in Hong Kong racing last season, winning four races and moving up from Class Five to Class Three.
The Jockey Club's executive director of racing, Winfried Engelbrecht-Bresges, said yesterday the horse 'would be suspended from further participation in racing until the matter is clarified'.
He added: 'The case of the owner will go to the Jockey Club's Membership Committee and the Board Of Stewards to consider what further action is to be taken.'
In similar past instances, club members have lost their membership, disqualifying them from ownership of racehorses.
