There has been an abundance of mail regarding the television screens installed on local buses and the associated noise pollution.

Notwithstanding the arguments for or against the TV screens, there is a very simple solution for those who abhor the noise: earplugs. Were the bus companies to offer earplugs, in the way airlines do, there would be a twofold benefit:

There would be fewer complaints from those who want peace and quiet.
