One-sided policies provoked killers
I am a Muslim and a naturalised United States citizen. Like the rest of the world I am deeply saddened and disturbed at the recent senseless killing of thousands of innocent lives.
Politics is a subject that is well beyond me. But from an ordinary citizen's point of view, I see that the present US administration is shamefully one-sided with its Middle-East policy, favouring Israel. A fair approach towards Palestinian issues could have prevented last week's terrorist attacks in the US, as well as the many attacks that have occurred in Israel and Palestine. Through these columns, I would like to pay my respects and offer a prayer for all the innocent people of various religions who have been killed by terrorists. Most of these lives could have been saved if the leaders of the free world took an unbiased view when a country looks to them to act as a mediator.
I pray for the victims and their families. I also pray that the leaders we elect will keep in mind that their wrong decisions can destroy the world.
I denounce terrorism. But the US is partially responsible for these acts of terrorism last week. The hijackers' actions were despicable, but they were provoked by the US, and its policies are equally despicable.
