I refer to the letter from David Todd headlined 'Dangerous trip' (South China Morning Post, September 29). Citybus Route 47A is a daily service operating between Admiralty and Wah Fu. To meet the demand from students, three special morning departures are operated from Kennedy Town to Southern District at 6.45am, 7.30am and 8am respectively. The departure at 6.45am used to be operated by a double-deck bus, but was replaced by a single-deck bus during this year's summer holidays.

After the holidays, it was observed that the single-deck bus was not able to cope with the demand. To address the concern, Citybus has deployed a double-deck bus for the special morning departures at 6.45am and 8am from Kennedy Town since October 3.

The Transport Department will continue to monitor the service provision for the route and ensure that the demand is being met.
