BIG AND SMALL: A motorised sampan crosses the bow of Peter Henrick's Vida during yesterday's Officine Panerai Round the Island Race. Vida finished 33rd in the HKPN handicap and fifth overall in the IRC cruiser division. The Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club-organised event drew 140 entries from small dinghies to cruisers, with more than 500 sailors taking part.

Sam Chan's Cruiser Ffree Fire was first to round Bluff Head Mark taking monohull honours in three hours 26 minutes 40 seconds. Benoit Lesaffre's Atmosphere took multihull and overall line honours in 3:12:06. The biggest winner of the day, however, was Lady Helm in a 420 dinghy who sailed away with the Lady Godiva Trophy, class honours and was the fastest dinghy.
