Cheung Kong (Holdings) and Wharf (Holdings) were in a close encounter last night, launching rival residential projects for internal sale at the same time. Agents said competition for buyers was keen between Cheung Kong's Victoria Towers, in Tsim Sha Tsui, and Wharf's, Sorrento project, in nearby Kowloon Station. The developers were unavailable for comment but agents said Victoria Towers was priced at about HK$5,000 per square foot, while the selling price of Sorrento was said to be between HK$4,300 and HK4,700 per square foot.
