Four gold medallists at last year's All-China National Games will conduct a training session today for the Watson's Water Athletic Championships at Wan Chai Sports Ground.

The Guangdong athletes include men's 100 metres and 400 m champions Yin Hanzhao and Xu Zizhou, and male and female long jump winners Li Dalong and Gu Ying.

Students are welcome to attend the session, which will include theory plus practical demonstrations by the athletes and their coaches from the mainland.

The gold medallists will also participate in the first round of the championships on Saturday and offer their knowledge of specific disciplines.

The event is divided into four categories - the men's and women's open and junior divisions - and there will be four rounds of competitions starting this weekend.

The other rounds will be in April, June and November.

Training grants totalling more than $100,000 will be awarded to the athletes in each category achieving the most points in the first three rounds of the competition.
