The Hong Kong Police Web site offers the following penalty guidelines for two classifications of dangerous driving: 'Dangerous driving causing death' involves 'a maximum fine of $50,000 and imprisonment for five years; disqualification from driving for not less than two years on the first conviction and not less than three years on subsequent conviction.

'Dangerous driving' attracts 'a maximum fine of $25,000 and imprisonment for three years; disqualification from driving for not less than six months on the first conviction and not less than 18 months on a subsequent conviction'.

Michael Kwan of Redhill wishes Motoring had featured Lantau in its Valentine's Day romantic-drive feature.

Jurgen O of Deep Water Bay has another romantic drive suggestion:

'I recommend my girlfriends from overseas arrive in Hong Kong at about 6pm. They can watch the sun set during the approach to Chek Lap Kok and be out of passport control and customs by dusk. Then I like to take the Lantau Expressway over the beautifully lit bridges and head into Kowloon, approaching the East Harbour Tunnel with Hong Kong Island illuminated in all its majesty. Then the East Island Expressway takes you into Causeway Bay. Its colour and activity gives even the most jetlagged visitors a feel for this place and I've had no complaints yet.'
