Just before turning off my TV one morning last week after the ABC World News on TVB Pearl, I saw a promotional clip for a four-part drama series titled Shackleton.
This series about the explorer Sir Ernest Shackleton sounded good and I decided I would like to watch it, until the time was mentioned. The first episode was to be aired at midnight, on a Wednesday. Why did Pearl elect to show it at such a ridiculously late time? I would appreciate a reply from the station.
I am also concerned about the amount of horse racing shown on ATV World. Previous correspondents have expressed similar views and we are told it is because there is a demand for it. Perhaps there is, but does that justify showing it on an English channel?
Although a few foreigners may enjoy the racing they certainly are not in the majority. Why can't it be shown just on the Chinese-language channels?
