Jackson in visit (Joe, that is)

WHILE that Jackson prevaricates, another popster bearing the same name is in our midst. Step forward, please, Joe Jackson - the man for all musical styles and seasons.

The British rocker, who had to cross the Atlantic to make it big, was spotted at the weekend sunning himself on the terrace of the Bela Vista in Macau.

Piano Joe, who straddles the pop divide, be it rock, soul, funk or punk, arrived in Hongkong on a private visit, and was scheduled to head off after a day or two. But apparently he likes the place so much he's decided to extend his stay.

On the other hand, with all that brouhaha going on about his namesake Michael (which he could hardly have avoided while here), maybe obliging Joe thought he might stick around and offer himself for the aborted dates - about which the promoters are expected to tell us the worst some time today.
