AsiaSat to report results

Regional satellite operator Asia Satellite is expected to report a 4.85 per cent drop in full-year net profit to HK$548.36 million today, according to Thomson Financial First Call. That compares with a net profit of HK$576 million on a turnover of HK$997.4 million for the year to December 31, 2000. Worldsec International analyst Bertrand Chui expected there would be 10 contract renewals for last year, which would represent about one seventh of its total revenue.
