Sunday is the one day when, by law, construction noise is not supposed to assault our ears.

However, it appears to me that the police have no interest in enforcing this law. They only act if someone decides to complain.

What can citizens do to protect themselves from this endless assault on their ears? The stress this creates is impossible to endure.

Everywhere you go in Hong Kong, every day, you see roadworks, renovation works, and construction projects under way. This is never-ending and causes complete mayhem. And the problem is actually getting worse.

Why does the administration not seem to care about improving the quality of our lives by reducing noise levels in the city?
