Airline definitely not smooth as silk

I found the uncaring attitude of flight attendants on two Thai Airways' flights towards infant safety appalling and unacceptable.

My husband and I, with our five-month-old baby, flew from Hong Kong to Bangkok on February 4 (flight TG 631) and back to Hong Kong on February 12 (TG 628).

On the first flight as we took our seats we asked for a child seat belt and a bassinet. The attendant said we could hold our baby since it was only a three-hour flight. This is not safe for a child, especially if there is turbulence or a bumpy take-off and landing. We firmly repeated our request for the belt and bassinet and eventually got them.

On our flight back, we had a similar experience when asking for a child lap seat belt. The attendant said they did not have one. We were furious and tried again with the senior female attendant. Eventually we got the belt.

We should not have had to ask for these belts. They should have been offered to us when we were seated.
