Police face bribery probe
FIVE policemen, suspected of taking bribes from smugglers, have been arrested by the Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC). The group - a sergeant and four constables - was taken in for questioning on Thursday after the anti-graft body received information from the police about the alleged crime, the ICAC said yesterday.
The officers, of Stanley sub-division, are suspected of having accepted advantages in return for not taking action against smuggling in the area in November 1992. They have been granted bail.
