Wong Fei-hung vs Wong Fei-hung

CHIU MUN-CHIOK Age: 21. Height: 1.76 m. Looks: Taller and more presentable than Jet Li, with well-sculpted cheekbones and dark, closely-knit eyebrows.

Acting: As expressive as a dead fish. The audience has trouble trying to work out when he is happy or sad. Subtitles and more instructions from the director may help. Pugilistic skills: Lightning fast, he too is capable of dazzling kicks, but perhaps may not appear as elegant as Li. Some say the bad cinematography is largely to blame. Improvement depends on the competence of his martial arts choreographer and more flattering shots.

Love life as Wong Fei-Hung: Virtually non-existent. The best he manages in Part IV is holding the hand of an unknown actress (who plays a member of the Red Lantern Society) when she dies. Star forecast: Considering the current crop of Hongkong actors are only good enough to play Prince Charming, perverted killers or gangsters, Chiu has a bright future in action pictures. Verdict: Wong Fei-hung is too mature a role for Chiu to handle, but given time, he will oust Li.
