Charity begins at school
The English Society of Queen Elizabeth School organised a charity bazaar to raise money for Medicins Sans Frontieres (MSF) recently.
We chose this organisation as we are very much in favour of their voluntary services to the sick and poor all over the world.
First we collected unused stationery, toys and ornaments from our students and teachers. We managed to gather more than 200 of these donated 'gifts'. They were marked at very low prices to attract our students and teachers; most of them cost $10 or less.
Students clustered around the counters during lunchtime and after school.
The bazaar raised more than $1,100 for MSF.
Through this activity, the committee members of our English Society had the satisfaction of helping MSF, and gained valuable experience in organising an event which involved the whole school.
