THE TREND FOR LUXURY brands to parade their wares to hand-picked clients over lavish feasts continues. The latest to jump on the dinner and temptation bandwagon was French jeweller Van Cleef & Arpels, which shrank the Grand Hyatt ballroom for a more intimate feel. Guests in black tie were treated to a gourmet dinner with wines that met the approval of exporters Nils Thomsen and Monis Beraha, both accompanied by their wives Karin and Amanda respectively.

The highlight of the evening was the gem-laden models who sashayed around in pleated Issey Miyake-like dresses. The ladies were encouraged to try on the baubles between forkfuls of food, especially Mia Wang, wife of industrialist Michael Wang.
