The Yale Whiffenpoofs

From their humble beginnings as 'a quintet of friends singing for supper' the Yale Whiffenpoofs - an a cappella choir of Yale University - have become an American icon. The singing university students travel around the US during the academic year, perform in the Caribbean in the winter holidays, South America in Easter and during summer they jet off for world tours. They were billed to perform last night but, due to overbooked flights, they will play tonight and tomorrow night. The 14-man, all-male group sing jazz standards, ballads, barbershop quartet songs and popular hits. Today and tomorrow, 8pm. Star Alliance Theatre, Fringe Club, Central. $120 Fringe or Ticketek.
