As part of the SAR's fifth anniversary celebrations, a selection of artworks from the Ninth Chinese National Art Exhibition sweeps into the Heritage Museum. Held every five years, Baihua Qifang is a varied exhibition that features 100 award-winning pieces including traditional Chinese paintings, prints, oil paintings, watercolours and gouaches, lacquer paintings, illustrations, comics and sculptures. A new design category was formed for the 1999 show, covering graphic, product, fashion and interior works. This exhibition provides a fine overview of contemporary Chinese art.
