I enjoy scuba diving and dive as many Sundays as I can in Hong Kong.
Over the past three years I have noticed an increase in marine life. Also, the water is getting much cleaner and the sport is growing in popularity.
These are all positive developments and good news for Hong Kong.
However, I am very concerned about the use of spearguns in Hong Kong waters. I have often seen divers carrying spearguns in water where there may be up to 30 other divers. This is not only a very dangerous activity but I am very surprised that there is anything to kill.
Surely there must be restrictions on the use of spearguns. Divers should not be allowed to carry them.
