Bully-boy tactics will not work
DO the politicians in the US really believe that the International Olympics Committee will bend to a bit of political bullying? I, for one, have confidence that the IOC will close its mind to all this trumpeting and do its job fairly, fearlessly and uninfluenced by such an unacceptable political attempt to influence its thinking. I hope that China is favoured with the Olympics in2000, but if the honour goes elsewhere there can be no complaint if the IOC makes its decision in the manner expected of it by the rest of the world.
