Deficit put at $26.3b

A deficit of $26.3 billion was recorded for the first three months of the financial year, compared with $22.9 billion for last year. Expenditure from April to June reached $56.4 billion and revenue was $30.1 billion. Financial Secretary Antony Leung Kam-chung has estimated the deficit would reach $45.2 billion for 2002-03.
