Keep it simple
THE ROYAL Hong Kong Jockey Club is famous for its contribution to charitable causes and all punters and non-punters appreciate that.
However, the club lavishly renovates the betting centres every three to four years, whether it is necessary or not and uses expensive Italian granite and other materials. It should stick to simple, but elegant decoration, and only when it is absolutely necessary. The funds saved could lead to more money being available for charitable causes. The Hong Kong public would appreciate this.
