I would like, through these columns, to ask the Peak Galleria management to stop their staff throwing rubbish into the countryside.

Early on the morning of July 6, as I returned with my dog past the Galleria there were two men beneath two long ladders with what appeared to be banners that are regularly put on the lamp-posts outside the Galleria.

One of the men crossed the road and threw what he was holding over the wall on the opposite side of the road.

I heard what sounded like pieces of metal striking the other side of the wall.

They seemed unconcerned that they had an audience and continued to wind up the banners as I walked past.
