Fire equipment warning

The Fire Services Department yesterday reminded the public not to buy fire-fighting equipment from salesmen claiming to represent associations or centres dedicated to fire safety. A department spokesman said some of the equipment, particularly portable extinguishers, may carry incorrect fire safety instructions. He said people could obtain proper fire safety advice from the department free of charge.
