Jonathan Gray's suggestion to have the UN headquarters in Hong Kong (South China Morning Post, August 3) is a pretty good idea, but maybe that thought could be carried even further.

Put the headquarters in Jerusalem and legislate that the areas surrounding the building be weapons-free. It might give Palestinians and Israelis an opportunity to put a stop to all the violence.

History is simply repeating itself and it does that because we all behave so mechanically, particularly at the level of the group. Can we break the mould?

There is a difference between the people of Israel and the Zionists. The Palestinians would probably go along with the plan if it means they could enjoy leading normal lives.
