I agree with the views expressed by John McNair ('Hong Kong the perfect testing ground for alternative power', South China Morning Post, August 29) about the way forward for future transport in the SAR.

In one respect, Citybus has already adopted his proposed strategy, and Mr McNair is cordially invited to visit our Wong Chuk Hang depot to ride in the world's first air-conditioned double-decker trolleybus, which produces no harmful emissions.

This Hong Kong project has been under test for the last year, and Citybus is hopeful that many more modern trolleybuses will soon be seen on the streets of Hong Kong, to the benefit of roadside air quality for us all.
