Macau gallops on

Since betting on Macau horse-racing by both telephone and the Internet is outlawed in Hong Kong, may I ask why ATV World continues to devote three nights of primetime television each week to it? Despite being effectively outlawed, it seems paradoxical that far more broadcasting time (Friday, Saturday and Sunday: 8.30pm-11.33pm) is dedicated to Macau Racing than any other topic.

Additionally puzzling is that ATV chooses to screen nine hours of Macau Racing a week exclusively on its English-language channel.

Since horse-racing in Macau does not merit any coverage whatsoever on ATV's Chinese-language channel, ATV Home, one clear inference is that only English-speaking audiences are intent on defying the new Hong Kong law.
