Former Hong Kong Footballer of the Year Ricky Cheng Siu-chung has ended speculation over his immediate future by signing a one-year contract with Happy Valley. Cheng, who left Hong Kong giants South China at the end of last season, has returned to the club which launched his career in the SAR. The 28-year-old forward made a 'comeback' as a 21-year-old by playing for Happy Valley after spending much of his youth in Costa Rica. Cheng had returned to Costa Rica at the end of last season to look for work during the summer but failed to find a club. Happy Valley finally agreed terms with Cheng after initially refusing to sign because he was too expensive. The former Instant-Dict and Eastern forward has joined his teammates in Happy Valley's pre-season tour of Malaysia.
