16 abode seekers deported

Sixteen right of abode seekers on Wednesday were arrested in the latest operation by immigration officers to deport overstayers in Hong Kong.
Around 7am, 95 immigration and police officers raided 16 flats across the territory.
''Among the 16 immigration offenders, 4 men and 10 women were abode seekers,'' said an Immigration Department spokesman.
He added: ''All the arrested persons were repatriated to the mainland.''
Since the ''grace period'' expired at the end of March, more than 2,070 abode seekers have been repatriated to the mainland.
