The political role of Hong Kong has become obscured since the 1997 handover. I despair at the way a parochialist mentality by the government is trying to curb freedom of speech in an open-minded society. The international reputation of 'one country, two systems' would further deteriorate if Article 23 of the Basic Law is enacted. I suggest every citizen consider the issue and speak out.
