The International Air Cargo Association (TIACA) exhibition this week marks a milestone: it is the biggest single forum and exposition in the 42-year history of the air cargo industry group.

Lined up for the four-day event are more than 200 exhibitors from a broad spectrum of industry-related fields.

They range from airlines, freight forwarders and logistics organisations to ground handling and general sales agents, trucking companies, and IT providers. The host sponsor is the Hong Kong Airport Authority, with platinum sponsorship from the Hong Kong Tourism Board, United Parcel Service, FedEx, Air Hong Kong, Cathay Pacific Airways, DHL Worldwide Express, United Parcel Service, Dragonair, and the Hong Kong Trade Development Council.

The exhibition will cover 9,000 square metres of floor space at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre.

TIACA's biennial International Air Cargo Forum and Exposition rotates every two years between Europe, North America and Asia. Air cargo decision-makers from around the world gather to address current industry challenges and opportunities.

All major links in the air cargo logistics industry will be highlighted in the forum. These include airlines, forwarders, airports, ground handlers, all-cargo carriers, motor carriers, customs brokers, integrators, shippers, and educational institutions.

A number of discussion sessions have been organised to examine key industry issues.

Themes to be addressed include: Key Trends in Global Markets; Trade Versus Security - Is a Clash Inevitable?; Freight Forwarding in the 21st-Century; How Technology is Changing the Dynamics of Air Transport.
