A film script about life in Temple Street has been selected by a global television network for its 'first-time film-makers initiative'.

Discovery Channel will give Liu Lok about US$25,000 (approx HK$205,000) to produce his documentary, Time In The Temple Street . The 35-year-old is the only applicant from Hong Kong to be selected for this programme.

The initiative, launched five years ago in Europe, now embraces Singapore, Malaysia, the Philippines, Indonesia, Taiwan and Hong Kong. Discovery Networks Asia said the exercise would help showcase the talents of up-and-coming Asian film-makers.
