Jiangnan looks for partners

THE Jiangnan Shipyard, operated by the China State Shipbuilding Corp (CSSC), is seeking partners for joint ventures or co-operation agreements.

Shipyard officials said the facility, which employs more than 14,000 people, could design, repair and re-fit vessels up to 80,000 deadweight tonnes.

The yard has built oceanographic survey ships, Panamax-type bulk carrier, full-pressured and semi-pressured LPG carriers, car carriers, container ships, refrigerator ships, double bottom-double skin crude oil tankers, and floating production and store equipment for offshore oil fields.

The vessels were approved by recognised classification societies and exported to clients in the United States, Germany, Norway, Poland, Singapore, Denmark, Italy and Hong Kong.

The shipyard's main products include automatic coal transport machinery for the Qinhuangdao terminal, a 200-metre-high funnel and steel tower for the Baoshan steel complex, a 30.5-tonne container bridge crane, a 16-tonne portal crane with hopper, and a mucking shield for a tunnel.
