A public housing estate tenant, 50, threatened to leap to his death from his flat in Kwai Chung yesterday after being ordered to move out for failing to pay rent for three months.
A 2.5-hour standoff with police and firemen began after Housing Department staff arrived at the eighth-floor flat in Yam Heng House, Shek Yam East East, at about 10.30am. The man locked himself inside and threatened to jump from the window. POlice broke in and subdued the man.
