An eight-year-old girl was fatally injured in front of her grandmother yesterday when she was struck by a lorry as she crossed the road on her way to school.

Primary Three student Ho Hin-man was knocked down in Pak Wo Road after she climbed over a central divider outside King Shing Court. A footbridge and a traffic-light controlled pedestrian crossing are located about 100 metres on either side of the accident spot. Police said they would look into whether safety facilities in the area needed to be reviewed.
