We refer to the letter from Catherine Ng regarding surveys conducted on the RoadShow multi-media on-board (MMOB) service on KMB's buses (South China Morning Post, October 24).

In the continuous research study of 1,000 people conducted by ACNielsen for KMB, interviewees are asked whether they like/don't like the programmes on buses.

In the most recent survey, conducted in July, 72 per cent of respondents said they liked the programmes, of which 15 per cent said they liked them very much. Most of the other respondents were neutral.

For the sake of reliability, ACNielsen has asked the same questions since the service was established. Comparison with the survey results of July last year shows that the percentage of those who like the programmes has increased from 66 per cent to 72 per cent.

We believe that these findings not only reflect the improvements that we have made to the programming and the sound system, but also clearly show that a large majority of our passengers appreciate the service that we are providing.

We would like to clarify that the questions in the survey are not addressed, as Ms Ng suggests, only to passengers who watch the programmes during journeys of more than 30 minutes.
