Crooners woo Jiang

The least surprising event of the year is to take place next month. Australian crooners Air Supply are coming to Hong Kong (yes, again) for a concert billed as a 'Christmas present'. What is unusual, however, is that it will be the last concert by Russell Hitchcock and Graham Russell (far right, with Hitchcock) in the SAR for at least five years, according to event organisers Wolfman Jack (Hong Kong). Not only that but President Jiang Zemin has been invited to attend the gig.

SAR doubts if Jiang, a lover of classical music, is a fan of the 'two cool men', as their press release describes them, who are 'charismatic and full of energy on stage'. But if the president does attend the show at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre on December 13, that will be the third surprise.
