Endangered cobras put down

About 600 endangered cobras seized by police after a high-speed anti-smuggling sea chase off Sai Kung on Thursday were put down, officials at the Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department said. A department spokeswoman said the Asiatic cobras had to be put to sleep because they were in very poor health.
