EARLY SUCCESS FOR VALLEY AND RANGERS

Happy Valley and Buler Rangers got off a flying start in the League Cup tournament, triumphing 2-0 over Xiangxue Pharmaceutical and 3-0 over Fukien respectively in their opening Group A matches at Mongkok Stadium. Happy Valley were heading for a goalless draw before striker Cameroon's Gerard Ambassa Guy scored four minutes before time. Defender Leung Shing-kit sealed the result in injury time as he converted a penalty. Rangers won thanks to second-half goals from Anilton da Conceicao, Julius Akosah and Kim Pan-Gon.
