Olympic figure skater Michelle Kwan demonstrates her skills at the Glacier in Festival Walk, Kowloon Tong, yesterday after slipping into town to promote Disney on Ice - Jungle Adventures. But the 22-year-old said her visit was more than just business: her entire family also flew in to Hong Kong to see her grandmother and uncle - and to do some sightseeing.

'I've already visited Times Square and had some great dim sum,' the two-time Olympic gold medallist said. 'Shopping is a top priority, especially since Christmas is coming.' Kwan, whose parents lived in Kennedy Town and Causeway Bay respectively before emigrating to the US in 1974, said she visited the SAR every summer when she was a child. 'It's really nice just walking around.

I like the atmosphere here,' she said. Before leaving on Friday, Kwan will visit the Disney site at Penny's Bay on Lantau and speak at the American Chamber of Commerce. Jungle Adventures - which combines scenes from the Jungle Book, Tarzan and the Lion King - will run at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre from January 23 to February 2.
