Editor clings to his desk

Police were called to magazine publishers Thomson Press on Tuesday after its managing editor refuted attempts to sack him and refused to leave his office.

And even after the cops arrived at about 9pm, Nick Walker - who oversees the magazines Asian Hotel & Catering Times and Asian Architect & Contractor - clung to his desk, defeating all attempts to remove him from the building.

The situation deteriorated and another manager is said to have dialled 999.

SAR caught up with Walker (still in the office yesterday morning). He claimed he was the victim of the 'worst kind of office politics', while company director Rajesh Malik is away in India.

What happens next is a mystery. Thomson Press have made no comment.
