South China finished top of Group B in the League Cup following a hard-fought 1-0 win over Sun Hei - but the Caroliners paid a heavy price for victory at Mongkok Stadium last night. Local striker Au Wai-lun struck a low drive in the 76th minute for the only goal in a match that saw more red cards than goals. South China will miss strikers Chan Ho-man and Rochi Putiray in the Cup semi-finals next month after the players were sent off in separate incidents. Chan was given his marching orders along with Sun Hei forward Cornelius Udebuluzor after an altercation in the 76th minute and Putiray was shown red seven minutes later for a terrible tackle on Marcio Anacleto. Earlier, Double Flowers were held to a 2-2 draw by Club in a match that saw a total of three players - two for Club and one for Flowers - sent off.
