DIY check-ins: Northwest Airlines has beefed up plans to add self-service check-in kiosks at 102 airports in the United States and Canada. Dubbed E-Service Centres, the check-in devices allow passengers to check in for domestic flights and flights from the US and Canada to Mexico and the Caribbean; select or change seat assignments; and change flights. Kiosks can also be used to view itinerary changes; confirm choice of alternative flights; receive upgrades (Elite members of WorldPerks); purchase upgrades at special low rates; and print ticket receipts.
