80pc SAY FREE CASUALTY SERVICES A MUST IN POLL

Four out of five people believe accident and emergency services at public hospitals should be free, according to a Democratic Party telephone poll of 518 people. On November 29, all 15 accident and emergency departments began charging Hong Kong residents $100, or $570 for non-residents. Only the elderly and those on welfare may apply for exemption.
