Harbour pilot Howard Lau Hon-kwong has had his licence suspended for six months after the collision of a container ship and a Hong Kong dredger. An inquiry concluded Mr Lau had failed to ensure the safe passage of the Kota Hadiah, which collided with dredger A. M. Vella west of Ma Wan on March 12 last year. The dredger sank and six Russians and two Hong Kong crew members died. Four of the bodies have not been found.
