Towngas says that if found responsible, it will compensate four pedestrians injured on Sunday by flying manhole covers blown in the air during an underground gas-pipe explosion. Three men, aged 63, 73 and 75, and a woman, 37, were hit by the covers on Chung On Street, Tsuen Wan. In a preliminary report, Towngas said one of its pipes had been leaking.
